PITTSBURGH - Freshman midfielder
Nate Dragisich (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) has been named Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer co-Rookie of the Week for his performance in a pair of Duquesne wins last week.
Dragisich's first career goal - to the upper right corner in the 89th minute - gave the Dukes a dramatic 2-1 win over Niagara on Sept. 10. The game-winner came just four minutes after the Purple Eagles had tied it. He followed that by assisting on
Zach Hall's goal in the third minute that propelled the Dukes to a 2-1 win over Cal Baptist on Sunday.
The 2018 Gatorade Pennsylvania Player of the Year has helped the Dukes (4-0-1) to their best start since 2014 with four points on the young season. He is tied for the team lead in shots (13) and is third in shots on goal with six.
Dragisich is the third Duke to earn Atlantic 10 honors in the past three weeks joining teammates senior goalkeeper
Robbie McKelvey (Defensive POW on Sept. 3) and sophomore defender
Eric Zech (co-Offensive POW on Sept. 9).
Duquesne, winner of four in a row - and the only Atlantic 10 team without a defeat in 2019, returns to action at Robert Morris on Wednesday.
Kickoff for the RMU game is set for 4:00 p.m. on NEC Front Row.
