Sebastain Pineda Joins @DuqMSoccer Coaching Staff

Assistant Coach Comes to Duquesne from Graceland University

PITTSBURGH - Men's soccer head coach Chase Brooks completed the 2019 Dukes' coaching staff with the addition of Sebastian Pineda as an assistant coach.

Pineda comes to the Bluff from NAIA Graceland University, where he just completed his third season as an assistant.

"In addition to his extensive playing experience, Sebastian has worked hard to thoroughly educate himself in all aspects of the game - including scouting and management," said Brooks. "I am excited to have him on our staff. He will be a great asset to our program and the players who work with him."

While at Graceland, Pineda helped the Yellowjackets to three consecutive Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament appearances. In 2018, Graceland advanced to the quarterfinal round before falling to eventual NAIA national runner-up Missouri Valley College.

A three-year starting defender, Pineda finished his playing career at Graceland in 2014, where he earned first team All-Heart of America Athletics Conference honors as a senior captain.

Pineda went on to play at different levels in Colombia, Germany and the United States, including for the Austin AzTex, OKC Energy and FC Tucson in the USL League Two.

The San Andres Islas, Colombia native, who is fluent in English, Spanish and German, completed his undergraduate degree in business administration and sports management at Graceland in 2015. He added a master's in sports management from Johan Cruyff Institute/University of Barcelona in 2018.

He also holds a Football Business Management Certificate from the Johan Cruyff Institute (2016), a National Diploma from the United Soccer Coaches (2019) and a Soccer Scouting and Analysis Certificate from MBP School of Coaches in Barcelona (2019).
