PITTSBURGH – Five-straight home matches to open the season highlight the 2019 Duquesne men's soccer schedule released today.
The Dukes, who are in their seventh year under head coach
Chase Brooks, open on Friday, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Bowling Green on the newly-resurfaced (FieldTurf) Rooney Field.
The BGSU game and a Sunday, Sept. 1 match with Oakland at 3:00 p.m. are part of the co-hosted Duquesne/Robert Morris Tournament.
DU stays home for matches against VMI (Sept. 7), Niagara (Sept. 10) and Cal Baptist (Sept. 15), before hitting the road for the first time for a short trip to Moon Township, Pa. to face Robert Morris on Sept. 18.
The RMU game begins a stretch of five in a row on the road.
Duquesne opens its eight-game Atlantic 10 Conference schedule on Sept. 21 at Saint Joseph's. The SJU game will be followed by a nonconference match at Saint Francis U on Sept. 24. The Dukes return to A-10 play at La Salle on Sept. 28, before leaving the state of Pennsylvania for the first time for an Oct. 1 nonconference match at Liberty.
DU's first A-10 home game is Oct. 5 vs. St. Bonaventure, followed by an Oct. 12 conference home match vs. George Washington.
The Dukes complete the nonconference portion of the schedule at Cleveland State (Oct. 15), before concluding the A-10 regular season vs. UMass (Oct. 19), at Dayton (Oct. 23), vs. Saint Louis (Oct. 26) and at Davidson (Nov. 2).
The top eight regular-season finishers will compete at the Atlantic 10 Championship with opening round games at the sites of the top four finishers on Nov. 9-10. The championship will conclude with semifinal and final games at Fordham University's Jack Coffey Field on Nov. 15 & 17.

2019 SCHEDULE QUICK NOTES
- Duquesne will play nine matches at home and eight on the road. Six of the home games will start at 7:00 p.m., with the exceptions being Sunday afternoon nonconference games vs. Oakland (Sept. 1 at 3:00 p.m.) and Cal Baptist (Sept. 15 at Noon) and a Saturday morning match vs. VMI on Sept. 7 (11:00 a.m.). Admission to all Duquesne home matches is free.
- DU will face members of seven different conferences in non-league play: Cleveland State & Oakland (Horizon), Robert Morris & Saint Francis U (Northeast), Bowling Green (Mid-American), Cal Baptist (Western Athletic), Liberty (Atlantic Sun), Niagara (Metro Atlantic Athletic) and VMI (Southern).
- Duquesne will face three first-time opponents in Cal Baptist, Liberty and VMI.
- The 13-team Atlantic 10 will maintain an eight-game schedule. The top eight teams will qualify for the Atlantic 10 Championship which will conclude at Fordham's Jack Coffey Field November 15 & 17.
