PITTSBURGH - Duquesne's
Noah Ball (Lancaster, Ohio / Lancaster) and
Elizabeth Morris (Doylestown, Pa. / Central Bucks East) each garnered 2018-19 Google Cloud Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-District® honors, the organization announced today.
The Academic All-District® teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. Academic All-District® Team members now advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot with honorees being announced in June.
Ball earns his first Google Cloud Academic All-District® selection as a junior pharmacy major with a 3.93 cumulative GPA. Recently named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team for men's track and field, he finished 12th in the 1,500-meter run at the A-10 Championship with a personal best time of 3:59.12 for the Dukes. He also recorded a fourth-place showing in the event at Saint Francis U's Red Flash Open and a second-place performance at the Carnegie Mellon Quad Meet.
Morris collects Google Cloud Academic All-District® for the second consecutive year as a senior education major (grades 4-8). Morris is a two-time A-10 All-Academic honoree for track & field in addition to being selected to the A-10 All-Academic Team for cross country in 2018, as well. She placed sixth in 5,000-meter run and the 10,000-meter run at 2019 A-10 Championship after posting an all-conference performance for the Dukes at the 2018 A-10 Cross Country Championship. She added an eight-place mark in the 5,000-meter run for Duquesne at the 2019 ECAC Championship. Last season, she finished fourth in 5,000 and fifth in 10,000 at the A-10 Track & Field Championship.
