GAME NOTES

  •  Duquesne is coming off an explosive offensive performance in a 106-69 win over Rhode Island in the A-10 Championship First Round on Tuesday night at the A.J. Palumbo Center. 
  • The Dukes' 106 points were second in school history only to a 116-point performance in a 116-94 win over Valparaiso on Nov. 23, 1990. DU's 42 first-quarter points and 66 first-half points also represented school records.
  • Chassidy Omogrosso paced five Dukes in double-figures with a game-high 22 points (8-12 FG, 5-8 3FG) on the night. The senior guard moved into sole possession of third place on the Dukes' all-time scoring list with 1,680 career points, passing Candace Futrell (1,668 points / 2001-04)
  • Conor Richardson netted a season-best 20 points (7-10 FG, 2-3 3FG, 4-4 FT) in just 13 minutes
  • The victory marked Duquesne's sixth win in a row.
  • The Dukes shot a season-high 63.5 pct. (40-of-63) from the field, representing a high for Duquesne in the Dan Burt era.
  • Duquesne is seeking its first A-10 Tournament Championship in program history, looking to punch its second ticket to the NCAA Tournament in program history (2016).
  • The Dukes' starting lineup of Chassidy Omogrosso, Halle Bovell, Libby Bazelak, Amanda Kalin and Kadri-Ann Lass is 6-1 on the year.
  • The DU senior class of Chassidy Omogrosso, Julijana Vojinovic, Eniko Kuttor, Conor Richardson, and Kadri-Ann Lass moved into third in program history with 89 wins as a class.
  • With Tuesday night's win, sixth-year head coach Dan Burt has now tallied at least 18 victories in each of his first six seasons at the helm of the Duquesne program.


RED-HOT DUKES

Duquesne has won six straight heading into Friday's quarterfinal round.

During this current winning streak:

  • The Dukes are averaging 77.2 points per game.
  • Duquesne is outscoring opponents by an average of 15.8 ppg.
  • The Dukes are shooting 44.5 pct from the field including 37.5 pct from behind the arc.
  • Chassidy Omogrosso leads the Dukes in scoring at 17.0 ppg. She is shooting 55.3 pct from downtown (21-of-38) in those wins.
  • Julijana Vojinovic is second on the team in scoring during this winning streak at 13.3 ppg. She has connected on 92.6 pct of free throws (25-of-27).
  • Libby Bazelak is leading the team with 6.2 rpg while dishing out a team-high 26 assists compared to just nine turnovers over the last six contests. She has also racked up 13 steals.
  • Kadri-Ann Lass has registered 23 blocked shots during that span while pulling down 5.0 boards per game.


OMOGROSSO, LASS EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

  • Duquesne seniors Chassidy Omogrosso (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Blackhawk) and Kadri-Ann Lass (Tallinn, Estonia / Audentese Spordigumnassium) each garnered Atlantic 10 All-Conference accolades, the league announced on Thursday morning.
  • Omogrosso was named to the Second Team while Lass earned Third Team laurels as well as All-Defensive Team honors.
  • Omogrosso collects her third all-conference nod after being named to the All-Rookie Team as a freshman in 2016 and First Team last season. She paces the Dukes in scoring at 12.3 points per game while ranking seventh in the conference with 62 3-pointers made on the year.
  • Lass picks up her third and fourth all-conference accolades, as she repeats as a member of the All-Defensive Team after being named to the All-Rookie team in 2016. The most prolific shot blocker in Duquesne history, she has tallied 278 career blocks during her four seasons with the Dukes.
