Duquesne XC Teams Collect USTFCCCA All-Academic Accolades

NEW ORLEANS - The Duquesne men's and women's cross country teams each earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team distinction for the Dukes' performance in the classroom and on the course during the fall season, the organization announced on Thursday.

In order to be recognized, teams must post a team GPA of at least 3.0 or higher. The Duquesne women's cross country team posted a team GPA of 3.65 which represented the highest among Atlantic 10 teams while the DU men recorded a GPA of 3.41, the second-highest average in the A-10.

In total, 427 teams garnered All-Academic honors from the USTFCCCA for the fall 2018 semester.

Duquesne's Elizabeth Morris (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) earned a spot on the A-10's Academic All-Conference team while Cordon Louco (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) secured USTFCCCA All-Region accolades after a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet.

All told, 88 pct. of the members of the cross country teams posted at least a 3.0 GPA for the fall semester and 75 pct. recorded a 3.5 or better.
