NEW ORLEANS - Both the Duquesne men's and women's cross country teams earned a spot in this week's United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings, with the DU women coming in at 13th and the men moving up one spot to 14th.
Penn State owns the top spot on the women's side followed by Georgetown and Penn while Princeton headlines the men's rankings followed by the Hoyas second and Temple.
The Duquesne women's team is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Princeton Invitational which featured a trio of regionally-ranked teams from the Mid-Atlantic (George Washington, La Salle, Penn) and four from the Northeast region (Boston, Columbia, Marist, UConn). Seniors
Megan Aller (New Kensington, Pa. / Kiski Area) and
Rachel Valotta (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Plum) led the Dukes placing 25th and 26th, respectively.
Led by a PR time of 24:32.2 and a 20th-place mark by
Sam Snodgrass (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette), the Dukes men's cross country team finished 13th at the Princeton Invite which featured regionally-ranked squads Alabama, Boston, La Salle, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Penn, Stony Brook and UConn.
Duquesne returns to action competing for the 2019 Atlantic 10 title on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Oatland Plantation in Leesburg, Va.
