Dymond Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

First Duke to earn A-10 men's soccer honors this season

PITTSBURGH - Freshman midfielder Rob Dymond (Auckland, New Zealand) has been named Atlantic 10 men's soccer Rookie of the Week for his performance in Duquesne's two games last week. The 6-1 New Zealander, who is the first Duke to earn A-10 weekly honors this season, is the first DU Rookie of the Week since Ryan Landry shared the award on Oct. 24, 2016.

Dymond registered a season-high six shots - including goals in the 38th and 64th minute - to power the Dukes to a 4-1 win over Robert Morris last Wednesday. He followed that by logging all 90 minutes in a 2-0 defeat at Oakland.

Dymond, who has started all seven matches for the Dukes, has played 636 of a possible 656 minutes this season. He leads the team in goals with three, is tied for the team lead with seven points and ranks second in shots (15) and tied for third in shots on goal (5).

Duquesne (2-4-1) returns to action at Wright State (6-0-1) on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
