UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Senior Cordon Louco (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) posted a 10th-place finish at the 2018 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship to lead the Duquesne men's cross country team on Friday at the Blue-White Golf Course hosted by Penn State.
The Dukes tallied a score of 317 on the day, good for an 11th-place finish out of 24 teams competing. Princeton won the event with a score of 61 followed by Villanova second (73) and Georgetown third (97).
Louco toured the 10K course in 31:25 to pace Duquesne. He will now wait to hear the selection of at-large selections to the NCAA Championship meet on Nov. 17 in Madison, Wis.
The top two teams from each of the nine regional meets will automatically advance to the NCAA Championship, while the rest of the teams need an at-large berth to qualify.
Individually, 36 runners will automatically advance to the NCAA Championships if they are the top four individual finishers that placed in the top-25 at their respective regional meet and are not on an NCAA-qualifying team. Two runners from each region will also receive an at-large bid, but they must also have finished in the top-25 at their respective regional meet.
