NEW ORLEANS - All-Region honorees for the 2018 NCAA Division I Cross Country season were recognized Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following regional championship weekend, with Duquesne's
Cordon Louco (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) garnering All-Region honors for his performance at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday.
Runners earned the distinction by finishing among the top-25 runners at one of nine regional sites across the country.
Louco earned his second career All-Region nod with a 10th-place finish at Friday's race, finishing the 10K in 31:25Â for the Dukes in the cold, rainy conditions at the Blue-White Golf Course in University Park, Pa. Louco finished just short of qualifying for the NCAA Championship, which takes 31 teams and 38 individual runners for the entire country.
He caps a stellar cross country career with Duquesne with two top-10 finishes at the A-10 Championship, including a second-place finish at this season's meet. The Pittsburgh native added an eighth-place showing at the 2016 A-10 Championship followed by a team-best 24th-place finish at the 2016 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State, his first of two all-region accolades.
Louco is just the second Duquesne runner to earn two All-Region honors and the fourth in school history to finish in the top 10Â in the region.
