MEET NOTES

Duquesne travels to Mechanicsville, Va. Saturday for the 2018 Atlantic 10 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championship at Pole Green Park.
The Women's Cross Country Championship (5K) will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be immediately followed by the Men's Championship (5-Mile Race) beginning at 10:50 a.m.
Lead by head coach Jim Lear, the Duquesne men's cross country team was picked to place third in the conference's preseason poll while the men were selected to finish fourth.
Cordon Louco (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was named the A-10 Performer of the Week twice this season, first after winning the individual crown at the Duquesne Duals to open the 2018 campaign and again after posting a 25th-place finish at the Penn State National Open, besting many runners from several ranked opponents. Christian Kazanjian (Media, Pa./Penncrest) (5th) and Louco (8th) each posted top-10 finishes for the Dukes at the 2016 A-10 Championship.
Elizabeth Morris (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) has paced the Duquesne women's cross country team this fall, finishing first for the Dukes in three meets. Morris placed 21st at last season's A-10 Championship.
The DU women are seeking their first A-10 title since 2014. The Dukes won back-to-back conference crowns in 2013 and 2014.
The Duquesne men last won the A-10 championship in 2005. During that season, head coach Jim Lear was named the A-10 Coach of the Year and assistant coach Tom Slosky posted a fourth-place mark at the championship meet to lead the Dukes. DU is looking to knock off two-time defending A-10 champion Dayton.
The men's team placed fourth last season while the women's team finished in fifth place.
