Louco Named A-10 Co-Performer of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Following his performance at the Penn State National Open on Friday, Duquesne's Cordon Louco (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Co-Performer of the Week, conference officials announced on Tuesday morning.

Louco posted a 25th-place finish (24th among scorers) to lead the Dukes, finishing the 5.2-mile race in 25:32. This bested scorers from ranked opponents including No. 16 Arkansas, No. 18 Eastern Kentucky, No. 19 Iona, No. 29 Georgetown and No. 30 Virginia Tech. In addition, he crossed the finish line before all runners from North Carolina, Penn, Dartmouth, Georgia Tech, Akron, Pittsburgh, Brown, Bucknell and Charleston Southern at the event.

This is the second weekly conference honor for Louco, who also won the award after claiming the title at the annual Duquesne Duals to open the season. He becomes the first Duquesne runner to be named A-10 Performer of the Week twice in one season since Jim Spisak in 2012.

He shares this week's accolade with Saint Joseph's Zach Michon, who placed 20th overall out of 219 runners and was the top A-10 finisher at the Princeton Invitational.

Louco and the Dukes are slated to travel to Mechanicsburg, Va. for the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday, Oct. 27.
