UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Senior
Cordon Louco (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) earned a 25th-place finish (24th among scorers) in a strong field of 206 runners to lead Duquesne at the 2018 Penn State National Open on Friday at the Blue-White Golf Course in State College. The Dukes posted an 18th-place finish on the day in their final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championship later this month.
No. 19 Virginia paced all teams with a score of 61 followed by 18th-ranked Eastern Kentucky second (77), No. 16 Arkansas third (103), Michigan State fourth (181) and No. 29 Georgetown fifth (226).
Louco toured the 5.2-mile course in 25:32 before scorers from ranked opponents in the No. 18 Colonels, No. 16 Razorbacks, No. 19 Iona, No. 29 Hoyas and No. 30 Virginia Tech. He finished before all runners from North Carolina, Penn, Dartmouth, Georgia Tech, Akron, Pittsburgh, Brown, Bucknell and Charleston Southern.
