Duquesne (2-6-1) opens conference play with an Atlantic 10 matchup vs. La Salle (4-4-1) on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 3:00 p.m. on Rooney Field. This is the A-10 opener for both schools.
THE SERIES
Duquesne leads the overall series 10-5-3, including a 5-1-3 advantage in games played on Rooney Field. DU has won the past two in the series, including a 3-2 double overtime victory in Philadelphia on Oct. 7, 2015 (the two didn't play last seaon). Alex Healion netted the game-winner in the 108th minute of the 2015 win.

- Duquesne is 60-37-10 all-time - including a 8-6-2 mark under fifth-year head coach Chase Brooks - in Atlantic 10 games on Rooney Field.

- The Explorers are coming off a 1-1 tie with LIU Brooklyn at home on Wednesday. La Salle tied it on a dramatic goal from Johnny Ciarlante with 41 seconds left in regulation.
- Duquesne is coming off a tough 1-0 double-overtime loss at Bowling Green on Wednesday. The Dukes outshot the Falcons 16-8 while holding the Falcons to just three shots on goal.
- Seven players have scored for the Dukes, led by sophomore Zach Hall with three goals. Jallah Acqui, Tyrese Edwards and Jason Twum have two goals each. Hall leads the team with seven points, Acqui is second with six.
- Hall leads the team in shots (28) and shots on goal (14). Ian Larson is second with 11 shots and Austin Stout third with 10. Tyrese Edwards is second to Hall in shots on goal with six (of nine total shots).
- Edwards, a freshman, came off the bench to score a pair of second-half goals on Aug. 27 vs. Bloomsburg. Edwards, who logged 37 minutes, scored in the 76th and 78th minute. The Brampton, Ontario native took a team high six shots, including a team-most four on goal in that game.
- Twum, who was scoreless in his first 37 games at DU, has scored twice in the Dukes' past four games.
- DU's seven returning starters include: grad student D Cody West (18 games/18 starts), sophomore F Zach Hall (18/17), junior D/M Ian Larson (17/16), senior M Fredrik Borenstein (18/15), junior M Noah Mehta (17/11), sophomore D/M Ryan Landry (16/11) and senior M/F George Poppas (18/10).
- The Dukes have replaced goalkeeper Evan Kozlowski, who posted nine shutouts in starting all 18 games last season, with sophomore Robbie McKelvey. DU opened the season with sophomore Scott Rissler in net. It was Rissler's first Division I game. McKelvey made his first career appearance in a start vs. Bloomsburg (59:36) and combined with Rissler (30:24) for the shutout. McKelvey has been in net for the past seven games.
- Duquesne's five goals vs. Bloomsburg (Aug. 27) tied its high under Brooks set in a 5-0 win at St. Bonaventure on Oct. 12, 2014.
- DU's five first-half goals this season are four more than it had in the first half of 18 games last year.
- Duquesne ranks tied for first in the Atlantic 10 (and tied for 48th nationally) in corner kicks per game at 5.67 (51 in nine games).
- Graduate student Cody West and junior Olav Hovstad are the team captains for 2017.
