Duquesne (3-7-1, 1-1) heads to Amherst, Mass. to face Massachusetts (7-2-2, 1-0) on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 12:00 p.m. This is the first road Atlantic 10 game for the Dukes who are coming off a home split with La Salle (W, 3-1) and Saint Louis (L, 0-3). THE SERIES
UMass leads the series 7-6-3, including a slim 4-3-2 advantage in matches played in Amherst. This is the first time the two have met since a 1-0 Duquesne overtime win at UMass on Oct. 28, 2012. This is fifth-year head coach Chase Brooks' first meeting with the Minutemen.

QUICK HITS
- This is the 23rd season for the Duquesne men's soccer program.
- DU is in its fifth season under head coach Chase Brooks. Brooks has led the Dukes to Atlantic 10 Championship appearances in 2013, 2015 and 2016.
- Duquesne heads to UMass looking for its first road win. The Dukes do own at tie away from home (1-1 at Robert Morris on Sept. 24).
- UMass, which was picked to finish eighth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, is has been the surprise of the league with a 7-2-2 record. The Minutemen, who own an A-10 win at Saint Louis (3-1), are 6-0-1 at home.
- This is the A-10 home opener for the Minutemen.
- UMass has scored 18 goals in 11 games, led by Alex DeSantis and Davis Smith with five goals each.
- Duquesne got a goal and assist from Jason Twum in its 3-1 A-10-opening home win over La Salle. Twum (27'), freshman Zion Beaton (70') and Jallah Acqui (83') were the goal scorers for the Dukes. Robbie McKelvey's seven saves were his second-highest total of the season.
- Saint Louis scored three times in the second half, including twice in the final 10 minutes, in posting a 3-0 win over the Dukes on Rooney Field on Wednesday.
- Eight players have scored for the Dukes, led by sophomore Zach Hall, senior Jason Twum and sophomore Jallah Acqui with three goals each. Hall and Acqui are tied for the team lead with eight point apiece.
- Hall leads the team in shots (32) and shots on goal (15). Austin Stout is second with 16 shots and Ian Larson third with 13. Tyrese Edwards is second to Hall in shots on goal with six (of nine total shots).
- Edwards, a freshman, came off the bench to score a pair of second-half goals on Aug. 27 vs. Bloomsburg. Edwards, who logged 37 minutes, scored in the 76th and 78th minute. The Brampton, Ontario native took a team high six shots, including a team-most four on goal in that game.
- Twum, who was scoreless in his first 37 games at DU, has scored three times in the Dukes' past six games.
- The Dukes have replaced goalkeeper Evan Kozlowski, who posted nine shutouts in starting all 18 games last season, with sophomore Robbie McKelvey. DU opened the season at Saint Francis U with sophomore Scott Rissler in net. It was Rissler's first Division I game. McKelvey made his first career appearance in a start vs. Bloomsburg (59:36) and combined with Rissler (30:24) for the shutout. McKelvey has been in net for the past nine games.
- Duquesne's five goals vs. Bloomsburg (Aug. 27) tied its high under Brooks set in a 5-0 win at St. Bonaventure on Oct. 12, 2014.
- Graduate student Cody West and junior Olav Hovstad are the team captains for 2017.
