FULL RESULTSLEESBURG, Va. - The Duquesne cross country team posted a fourth-place finish at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday morning at the Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Va. Senior Rico Galassi (Dickson City, Pa./Holy Cross) paced the Dukes with an eighth-place mark of 25:29.7.
Galassi collects the third all-conference honor of his career after winning the individual title last season and finishing seventh as a freshman in 2014.
Dayton won its second straight A-10 title with 66 points on Saturday, followed by St. Joseph's second (84) and George Washington third (95). Duquesne tallied 146 points on the day.
Junior Cordon Louco (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was the Dukes' second finisher, placing 22nd with a time of 26:01.9. Sophomore Jeff Van Kooten (Sewickley, Pa./Central Catholic) toured the five-mile course in 26:15.5 for a 29th-place finish.
