Duquesne (1-0-0) welcomes Marshall (1-1-0) to Rooney Field for the 2015 home opener Friday, Sept. 4 at 7:00 p.m. This is the fourth all-time meeting between the two, with DU holding a 2-0-1 series lead. Last year, the Dukes and Thundering Herd battled to a 0-0 2OT draw in Huntington, W.Va. This is the second meeting between the two in Pittsburgh. DU defeated Marshall, 4-1 on Rooney Field, on Sept. 12, 2008

Duquesne is 13-5-2 all-time in home openers, including a 2-0 mark under third-year head coach Chase Brooks.

• Duquesne is 98-49-17 on Rooney Field, including a 42-15-8 record in non-conference home games.

• The Dukes opened the season with a 3-1 win at Niagara on Sunday. Senior tri-captain Colin Phillips scored twice for the Dukes who were tied 1-1 at the half. First-year Christian Brothers U. transfer Diego Vieira also found the back of the net for the Dukes. Redshirt junior Evan Kozlowski stopped a pair of shots to get the win in goal in his fourth career start.
• Marshall split its season-opening trip to Michigan, losing 2-0 at Western Michigan on Aug. 28 and winning at Detroit, 1-0 in overtime on Aug. 30.
• Marshall returns it top goal scorer (junior Daniel Jodah with five) and two assist leaders (Jack Hopkins & Christian Kershaw with four each).
• Two first-year players started the opener: junior transfer Diego Vieira and true freshman Brandon Walbert. Four other freshmen: Noah Mehta, Matthew Rochowski, Justin Spencer and Peace Drevitch made their debut at Niagara. Overall, 18 field players saw action for the Dukes. Vieira scored a goal and Mehta posted an assist in the win.

NEXT UP: The Dukes welcome Oregon State, Cleveland State and Cornell for the Duquesne Invitational on Sept. 11 & 13. Cornell faces Cleveland State at 4:00 p.m. in game one on Friday, while Duquesne hosts Oregon State in the nightcap. The Duquesne women host UC Santa Barbara between the two games. Sunday's schedule features Oregon State vs. Cornell at 11:00 a.m. followed by Duquesne's women vs. Cincinnati at 1:00 p.m. The Duquesne Invitational will conclude with the Dukes taking on Cleveland State following the women's game.
