Back in May 2014, Jim Spisak graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's of Secondary Social Studies Education, and he needed little time to acquire a job in his field of expertise at a junior high school not far from his hometown of Johnstown, Pa.

In this day and age, hungry college graduates would kick and claw for such good fortune.

Everything seemed rosy for Spisak, then 22, but something continued to gnaw at his inner being.
