QUICK RECAP: Kadeem Pantophlet scored in the 76th minute to give Duquesne a 1-1 draw at Portland in the first round of the Hensor/Zaher Nike Classic at UP's Merlo Field. Hugo Rhoads got Portland on the board first with a shot from the top of the box that found the upper right corner of the net at the 43-minute mark of the first half. The Pilots registered seven shots (3 on goal) to five for Duquesne (0 on goal) in the opening 45 minutes of the match - that like the final score - was nearly even throughout. Rhoads' goal stood until Pantophlet redirected a Dorian Kouame shot into the top right corner from six yards out in the 76th minute. It was the second goal of the season for Pantophlet. Regulation time ended with the score knotted and Duquesne holding a 13-12 edge in shots and 7-4 advantage in corner kicks. Portland's Michael Escobar had the best chance in the first overtime, but his shot from the near right wing slid wide of the net in the 100th minute. Each team had one shot on goal in the second overtime. The two teams finished with 15 shots each. Duquesne had a 7-5 advantage in corners and had six shots on goal to five for Portland.

FROM COACH BROOKS: "The team battled hard today especially when you take into account the adversity of a long trip and a time change. We worked very hard in the second half and had to dig deep to get the result we got. It is very tough to go West and get points. This is why you work so hard in preseason, for games like today. Now we have to head down to Corvallis to face another challenge in Oregon State."

UP NEXT: The Dukes make the 85-mile trip to Corvallis, Ore. to face Oregon State Sunday at 3:00 ET in the second round of the Hensor/Zaher Nike Classic.
