PITTSBURGH - Duquesne sophomore midfielder Dorian Kouame (Paris, France) was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for his performance in DU's two matches over the weekend.
The 5-11, 140-pounder scored his third goal and posted his team-high seventh and eighth assists in DU's 3-1 win over La Salle on Sunday.
Kouame, who has four assists the Dukes' past three matches, is one assist shy of tying the school record of nine set by Derek MacKenzie in 2002 and tied by his brother, Travis, in 2006.
Kouame is the third Duke to earn A-10 honors this season. Freshman Fredrik Borenstein was named Rookie of the Week on Sept. 8 and senior midfielder Austin Lange took home A-10 co-Player of the Week honors on Sept. 2.
Duquesne (8-6-2, 3-3-0) continues its quest for a spot in the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship when it heads to New York to face Fordham on Friday. The Dukes begin the week seventh in the A-10 standings. The top eight finishers qualify for the Championship scheduled for March 13-16 in Richmond, Va.
