Nov. 12, 2014 Complete List of A-10 Honorees
PITTSBURGH - Forward Kadeem Pantophlet (Tiel, Netherlands) and midfielder Dorian Kouame (Paris, France) both earned postseason Atlantic 10 honors in a vote of the conference's 13 head soccer coaches released today.
Pantophlet, who led the Dukes with eight goals - including four in conference play - was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10, while Kouame, whose eight assists were one shy of the school single-season record, was named to the All-Rookie Team.
Pantophlet, who also led the Dukes in points (19), shots (52) and shots on goal (25), scored four goals in eight Atlantic 10 matches. The 6-7 senior, who played basketball on the Bluff for his first two years, finished his career tied for seventh on DU's all-time list for career game-winning goals with five. He tied the school single-season record for assists in a game with three in a 4-2 win over Saint Francis U on August 31.
Kouame, a sophomore who played in all 18 matches with 15 starts, is the fourth player to earn All-Rookie honors under second-year head coach Chase Brooks. The Paris native joins Pantophlet, Chris Alescio and Thomas de Villardi who were named to the team last year.
Duquesne finished its season with an 8-7-3 record (3-4-1 in A-10 play). It was the second consecutive winning season for the Dukes under Brooks.
