Stefan Lundberg Named Scholar All-American

Duquesne University soccer player Stefan Lundberg (Lower Burrell, Pa./Kiski Area) was recently named to the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-America squad, the highest academic honor bestowed by the national organization. He is just the second Duke ever to be named to the first team, following Derek MacKenzie in 2004. Lundberg was also named to the Scholar All-East Region First Team while fellow senior Ben Horner (Butler, Pa./Butler) was named to the Scholar All-East Region Second Team.

Lundberg is among Duquesne's all-time most prolific scorers, sitting sixth in career goals with 15. He was named Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference this season and was a Second Team choice in 2008. Lundberg is seventh all-time in career points with 40 and has tallied four game-winning goals at Duquesne. Two of those game-winners came this season in victories over Saint Joseph's and George Washington. He finished the 2010 season second on the team in scoring with 15 points on six goals and three assists and boasts a 3.90 cumulative grade point average.

Ben Horner


Horner played in all 18 contests this season, making 17 starts and assisting on goals in wins over Army and George Washington. For his career, he is ranked among Duquesne's all-time leaders in shots, assists and matches started. A finance major with a 3.95 cumulative grade point average, he is a two time Capital One Academic All-District honoree and a three-time Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference honoree.
