Sept. 1, 2010
Under the direction of fifth year head coach Jake Ouimet, Duquesne's men's soccer team will open the 2010 campaign on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 7:30 on Rooney Field as the Dukes host St. Francis.
The opener marks the first of three straight home matches in the first week of the season as part of an 11-game home slate for the Dukes. The Red and Blue also host local foes Robert Morris (Sept. 4) and Pitt (Sept. 7) before competing in the Pitt Tournament Sept. 10-12.
The Dukes return nine starters from their 9-7-2 team from last year, including 2010 Atlantic 10 Pre-Season pick sophomore Joshua Patterson who led the Dukes last year with six goals and 12 points and second leading scorer junior Tyler Tompkins who tallied four goals and one assist for nine points.
Also returning are goalkeepers senior Chris Torres and junior Colin Thorp who split time last season.
