COLUMBUS, Ohio - Wumi Agunbiade recorded a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds and Samantha Pollino added 14 points as the Duquesne women's basketball team defeated #13/12 Ohio State 71-67 on Tuesday night at Value City Arena.

With the victory the Dukes improve to 10-2 on the season and earn a program record seventh straight road victory.

Jantel Lavender finished with 21 points and Stephanie Prahalis scored a game-high 22 points off the bench for OSU (8-3), who were 115-2 against non-conference opponents at home coming into tonight's game.

The Dukes, who trailed by eight points with 5:04 remaining in regulation, ended the game on a 16-4 run capped by Kelly Britcher's 3-pointer from the right side with nine seconds remaining off an assist from Vanessa Abel.

"I couldn't be more proud of this team," said head coach Suzie McConnell-Serio. "The players responded to the challenges, they never quit."

With Ohio State up 21-20, Duquesne went on a 14-4 run over the next six minutes to take its largest lead of the game at nine points - 32-23 at the 2:33 mark of the half

DU would take a 36-29 lead into halftime.

The Buckeyes slowly began to chip away at the lead and by the 10:51 mark of the second half OSU tied the contest at 51-51. OSU took its first lead since the first possession of the game on a Brittany Johnson foul shot at 10:51.

With the Dukes trailing by eight inside of five minutes, Carly Vendemia hit a 3-pointer from the top of the key. OSU would miss its next shot which led to an Orsi Szecsi layup. Szecsi was fouled on the play and converted the free throw to cut the deficit to two points with 3:45 left.

An Abel steal on the next possession resulted in an Agunbiade jumper in the paint to tie the score at 63-63 with 3:20 remaining.

A pair of Lavendar foul shots with 2:25 remaining gave OSU a one point lead at 65-64. Szecsi would go on to score four consecutive points to put DU up by three points - 68-65 with 1:27 to play.

Lavendar's jumper in the paint made it a one point contest with 68 seconds left. Johnson made a steal on Duquesne's possession and found a driving Prahalis, but the All-American guard could not finish as Vendemia grabbed the rebound with 38 seconds left.

Abel was able to overcome tight defense dished off to Britcher who hit nothing but net to put DU up by four points

Tayler Hill's 3-pointer missed as time ran out.

The Dukes return home for a Thursday evening game against defending Ohio Valley Conference champion Austin Peay. Game time in at 7:00 p.m.
