Senior Alex Trujillo took just one shot on the night, but it turned out to be the game-winner as the Dukes improved to 2-0 on Rooney Field with a 1-0 blanking of visiting Manhattan in day one action of the Duquesne Invitational Friday evening.

Trujillo drilled a shot past the Jasper's keeper in the 85th minute to secure the win.

Sophomore Colin Thorp, in his first action of the season, posted his first career shutout, stopping both Manhattan shots that made it on goal. Seven different Dukes fired shots on goal as the Red and Blue outshot the Jaspers, 14-6.

The Dukes return to action on Saturday as they host Bowling Green at 7:30 pm on Rooney Field.
