Women's Basketball Bounces Billikens 84-66

PITTSBURGH - The Duquesne women's basketball team led from start-to-finish as all five starters scored in double-figures in their 84-66 victory over Saint Louis on Wednesday night.

Kristi Little led the Dukes with a game-high 17 points and Keri Pryor added 16 as DU improved to 14-10 overall and 4-5 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

Theresa Lisch and Alisha Goodwin each scored 14 points for the Billikens (10-14, 4-5), who dropped their third consecutive game.

Duquesne jumped out to an early eight point lead in the game's first four minutes as they connected on five of their first nine shots, including a pair of 3-pointers by Pryor and Alex Gensler.

The Dukes' lead would reach 20 points in the final minute of the first half as Eve Pyle found Rachel Frederick for a layup to make the score 42-22.

DU would see a 29-point lead two times in the second half.

Frederick's layup with 1:07 to play gave her 11 points for the evening and put all five starters in double-figure scoring for the second time this season.

For the second game in a row, Duquesne shot over 50 percent as they went 30-for-58 (51.7 percent). The Dukes also drained 9-of-19 3-pointers (47.4 percent).

Gensler, who only converted 3-of-11 shots from beyond the arc in her past three games, missed only twice tonight as her three 3-pointers tied the game-high. She finished with 13 points.

Pollino finished with 10 points and has scored in double-figures in five of Duquesne last seven games.



The Dukes will hit the road for a pair of game - Saturday at Massachusetts, 2:00 p.m. tipoff and February 18th at St. Bonaventure with a 7:00 p.m. start time. DU returns home on Saturday, February 21 to host Fordham. The contest will begin at 1:00 p.m.

  • With her 17 points tonight, Little moves into 12th place on Duquesne's all-time scoring list with 1,154 career points
  • The last time the Dukes had all five starters in double-figure scoring was Nov. 28, 2008 with the lineup of Little, Pryor, Pollino, Frederick and Kelly Britcher
