Duquesne University freshman Joshua Patterson (Bowie, Md./Bowie) has been named the Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 25.
Patterson scored two goals over the weekend as the Dukes won two Atlantic 10 contests. He scored DU's second goal in Friday's 4-0 victory at Saint Joseph's before scoring the game-winning goal with 17 seconds remaining in regulation in Sunday's 1-0 triumph at Temple.
Patterson leads the Dukes with six goals and 12 points while leading the Atlantic 10 with four game-winning goals. The Dukes are 5-1 in games in which Patterson scored, with the lone loss coming at then 20th-ranked Michigan State.
The Dukes (8-5-2, 3-2-1), who are currently in fifth place in the 14-team Atlantic 10 Conference, have three regular season games remaining. The top six teams in the standings qualify for the A-10's post-season tournament.
The Red and Blue return to action on Friday, Oct. 30 as they travel to UMass for a noon contest.
