The Duquesne University men's soccer team is ranked sixth in the region in the initial National Soccer Coaches Association of America's NSCAA/adidas Middle Atlantic rankings. Duquesne trails Atlantic 10 foes Charlotte (1), Saint Louis (2) and Dayton (5). Saint Louis and Charlotte are ranked 23rd and 24th respectively in the NSCAA national rankings.
The Dukes (1-0-1) recently won the West Virginia Classic, defeating Binghamton, 2-1 on Friday and playing to a scoreless tie with the then nationally-ranked host Mountaineers on Sunday. The Red and Blue host Pitt in their home opener on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 on the newly resurfaced and upgraded Rooney Field.
