Three different Dukes scored goals and sophomore goalkeeper Patrick Finnegan made seven saves as Duquesne's men's soccer team tallied a 3-1 victory over Binghamton in the second and final round of Richmond's Richmond's UR Nike Challenge Cup. The Dukes finished in second place for the tournament behind Campbell.
Freshman Stefan Lundberg got the Dukes on the scoreboard first with his first collegiate goal in the 13th minute off assists from sophomore Alex Trujillo and senior Travis MacKenzie. The remainder of the first half was scoreless as the Red and Blue took a 1-0 advantage into the half.
In the second stanze, the Bears tied the score in the 75th minute before junior Drew Jeffery answered with the game-winner in the 81st minute off of MacKenzie's second assist of the day.
Trujillo then put the match away, scoring his first of the season in the 87th minute off of junior Bryan Matthews' assist.
MacKenzie, Trujillo and junior John Strosser were named to the All-Tournament Team.
