Duquesne University men's soccer players senior Travis MacKenzie (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) and freshman Stefan Lundberg (Lower Burrell, Pa./Kiski Area) have been named to the 2007 Atlantic 10 Pre-Season All-Conference Teams as selected by the league's coaches. MacKenzie was named to the Pre-Season All-Conference team for the second straight year while Lundberg picks up his first A-10 award, being honored on the All-Rookie team.
MacKenzie, an NSCAA All-Region choice in 2005 and 2006, is an All-American candidate this season. He led the Dukes last year with 20 points on six goals and eight assists.
Lundberg was named an NSCAA All-American after leading the WPIAL with 36 goals in 2006. The Player of the Year in most local newspapers, he was also an All-Region choice and a two-time All-State honoree.
The Dukes, under the guidance of second-year head coach Jake Ouimet, return six starters and 12 lettermen from a 2006 squad that posted an 11-7-2 record and made its fifth straight trip to the Atlantic 10 Championship. The Dukes open the 2007 season Friday, August 31 as they travel cross-town to face Robert Morris at 3:00 pm.
