On Saturday, Duquesne was in two places at the same time. Veterans from the team competed in the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Indiana, while five freshman took on 19 other teams at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh's Schenley Park.
The young Dukes finished in 11th place in the 19-team event. Freshman Kyle Reeping paced the Red and Blue with a time of 27:14.95, good for 44th place in the 130-runner race.
Note: A total of 220 runners actually competed, which included non-team athletes and team members whose times did not count in the official results.
Duquesne alum Tim Wu, who is competing with the Pharoah Hounds, was 31st with a time of 26:58.86.
Duquesne is off until October 28th when they will host the Atlantic 10 Conference championships at the same Schenley Park.
