Terre Haute, Indiana - Junior Tom Slosky (Brackenridge, PA /Highlands) finished second in Saturday's NCAA Pre-Nationals Men's Cross-Country Open Race at the LaVern Gibson Course at Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. The event was hosted by Indiana State University and will be the site of the NCAA Championships on November 20, 2006.
Slosky led the Dukes to a fifth place finish in the 13-team competition, one of three men's groups running today.
The junior's time of 24:54 in the 8,000 meter run trailed only David Kemboi from Norfolk State.
Sophomore Josh Eddy (Pittsburgh, PA / North Hills) crossed the tape at 25:43, good for 28th place in the 84-athlete competition.
Duquesne is off until October 28th when they will host the Atlantic 10 Conference championships at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park.
