Duquesne University junior cross country runner Chris Horvat (Cleveland, OH/Gilmour Academy) and freshman teammate Josh Eddy (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) have been named the Atlantic 10 Performer and Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 18. Horvat receives the award for the second straight week while Eddy collects his first conference honor.
Horvat is honored after finishing second at the 265-runner National Catholic Invitational on Friday, Sept. 16. He ran the eight kilometer course in 24:50 as the Dukes edged host Notre Dame by a score of 45-46 to capture the crown in the 33-team field. Eddy placed fifth overall and second among freshman with a time of 25:21.
The Red and Blue return to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 as they travel to Bethlehem, PA for the Paul Short Invitational.
