Duquesne University junior goalkeeper Zach Varga (Mountville, PA/Hempfield) has been named the Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 16.

Varga helped Duquesne go 2-0 over the weekend by posting his fifth and sixth shutouts of the season as the Dukes beat UMass, 1-0 on Friday and Rhode Island, 1-0 in double OT on Sunday. He made five saves in the UMass win and three saves in the Rhode Island triumph, including one from point blank range in the first overtime. Varga improved his goals against average to 0.58 and now has 19 career shutouts. Varga has three straight shutouts and has blanked the opposition in four of the past five games. He has allowed just one goal in four A-10 contests (0.24 gaa).

The Dukes (10-2, 4-0 Atlantic 10) return to action on Saturday, Oct. 22 as they host Saint Louis at 6:00 pm.
