The Duquesne University men's soccer program is receiving votes in both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and College Soccer News National polls dated Nov. 9, 2004. In addition, the Dukes climbed from fourth to third in the NSCAA/adidas Middle Atlantic Regional rankings.
The Red and Blue (13-6-0, 9-2-0) recently defeated St. Bonaventure, 3-0 to increase their winning streak to four games and clinch their first ever regular season Atlantic 10 title. The Dukes are led in scoring by senior Derek MacKenzie (Carnegie, PA/Chartiers Valley) who has four goals and six assists for 14 points.
Duquesne, the one-seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship will play Friday, Nov. 12 at 11:00 am versus the lowest remaining seed from Thursday's games. Third-seeded Temple will play sixth-seeded La Salle at 11:00 am while fourth-seeded host George Washington will take on fifth-seeded Rhode Island at 1:00 pm. Dayton, the two-seed will play the highest remaining seed on Friday at 1:00 pm.
