On the Road Again
Sunday concludes a stretch of five consecutive road games for Duquesne, its longest such stretch since 2017.
Non-Conference Wrap-Up
Duquesne highlighted its non-conference slate with a 21-4 win at Mercyhurst, its largest margin of victory (+17) since 2020. The Dukes fell 16-11 at Butler last Sunday and opened the season against Akron (17-6), Mount St. Mary's (19-13) and Robert Morris (13-12). Four of the five games to begin the season have been played on the road.

Duquesne enters conference play with rankings in the top 20 nationally in several statistical categories.
Junior midfielder
Gracin Emerson leads the NCAA with 29 assists and averages a Division I-best 5.80 per game. She is one of two players in the country with multiple seven-assist performance this season (2) — tying the Duquesne single-game record. Prior to this season, only one seven-assist game had been recorded in the program's previous 29 seasons.
The East Lansing, Mich., native has posted at least five assists in four of five games and already ranks tied for sixth on Duquesne's single-season assists list with 29. Emerson has also scored four goals, finding the net in each of the last four games. She ranks fourth nationally with 6.60 points per game and leads the team with 33 total points.
Senior attacker
Emma Raines ranks second nationally with an .810 shot percentage, scoring a team-high 17 goals on 21 shots. Raines has recorded multiple goals in every game this season, including a career-best five in the win over Mercyhurst and four last time out at Butler.
Senior defender
Casey McBride ranks 16th nationally in caused turnovers per game (2.40). The Manahawkin, N.J., product has recorded at least one caused turnover in every game, including a season-high four at Butler.
As a team, Duquesne ranks second in Division I with a .578 shot percentage, scoring 63 goals on 109 shots. Only Dartmouth (.606) ranks higher nationally.

Freshman
Madison Welch set a Duquesne single-game record with 14 draw controls at Mercyhurst. Welch ranks third in the Atlantic 10 with 6.00 draw controls per game. She joins Emerson (tied single-game assist record, twice) among record-setting performances by the Dukes this season.
About the Dukes
Duquesne's 2026 roster features six seniors, five juniors, six sophomores and six freshmen under second-year head coach
Tracy Coyne, who owns 328 career victories across 37 seasons — the eighth-most among active NCAA Division I head coaches. The Dukes are replacing two all-conference selections and five of their top six scorers from last season due to graduation.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
Saint Joseph's enters Sunday's matchup on a five-game losing streak after opening the season with an 11-10 win at Lehigh.
The Hawks have faced a challenging non-conference schedule, including home games against No. 2/3 Maryland and receiving votes Georgetown, losing both by just two goals.
Saint Joseph's was picked second in the Atlantic 10 preseason coaches poll and received one first-place vote after finishing runner-up in the 2025 regular season. The Hawks posted a program-record nine conference wins and advanced to the A-10 Championship game after defeating VCU 17-7 in the semifinals before falling to nationally ranked UMass last year.
Senior attacker Alexa Capozzoli and defender Claire Fowler were named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team. Capozzoli is one of three Hawks with 10 goals entering conference play. Fellow senior Kate Fuhrman has recorded both a goal and an assist in every game this season and leads the team with 13 assists while adding 10 goals.
Saint Joseph's has scored 61 goals and allowed 77, averaging a -2.7 margin per game. Prior to Wednesday's 17-11 loss at Drexel, each of the Hawks' first five games had been decided by four goals or fewer.

30TH SEASON OF DUKES LACROSSE
Duquesne lacrosse is celebrating its 30th season as a varsity program on the Bluff in 2026. The Dukes, who began play in 1997, own an all-time record of 240-235 and have made 15 Atlantic 10 Championship appearances, highlighted by two regular-season co-championships.
