Newport, R.I. – For the third time this season, the Duquesne University bowling team swept the Northeast Conference (NEC) weekly awards, as junior
Maribeth Baker was named NEC Bowler of the Week Wednesday, while freshman
Jazmyn Scott was selected as NEC Rookie of the Week.
The pair were honored for their roles at the Stallings Invitational last weekend in Greensboro, N.C., at Triad Lanes as the Dukes wrapped up their 2025-26 regular season. It also marks the third time this season both Baker and Scott swept the NEC weekly honors, as the duo also collected the
same accolades Nov. 25, 2025, and
Feb. 11, 2026.
At the Stallings Invitational, Baker finished fourth individually, as over the course of five traditional games she collected 1,097 total pins, an average of 219.40. It marked her third consecutive finish in the top five individually of a competition in earning all-tournament team honors. Baker opened traditional play with a 235 against No. 1 Jacksonville State and also fired a 245 in a victory over Florida A&M.
In helping Duquesne finish 8-5 at the Stallings Invitational and sixth place out of 21 teams, Baker, a native of York, Pa. logged a strike percentage of 64 percent (32-of-50) to go along with an average frame of 21.94 and an average first ball of 9.38. She also posted an overall fill percentage of 90 percent. In Baker action, Baker led the Dukes with an average frame of 21.49 as well as an overall fill percentage of 90.5 percent an average of 9.11 on her first ball.
Scott, a native of Urbana, Ohio, averaged 17.46 per frame in traditional play as well as 17.69 in Baker action at the Stallings Invitational. She logged an average of 174.60 in five games of traditional action, including a 199 in a victory over Prairie View A&M as well as a 190 in a win over Florida A&M.
A member of the Dukes has been honored with an NEC weekly honor after seven of the eight tournaments of the 2025-26 regular season. In addition to Scott being named NEC Rookie of the Week three times this season, freshman
Taylor Miller has been bestowed the honor four times. Baker, meanwhile, is a three-time NEC Bowler of the Week this year and has collected four during the course of her career.

Jody Fetterhoff, Duquesne concluded the regular season with an overall record of 59-43 (.578), including a mark of 17-7 (.708) in the NEC. The Dukes claimed a share of the 2026 NEC regular-season championship and will be the No. 2 seed in the 2026 NEC Championship will take place at Hamilton Lanes in Hamilton, N.J., Friday, March 20, through Sunday, March 22.
Prior to the NEC Championship, the Dukes will open postseason action by competing in the 2026 ISC & ITC Sectionals, which will be hosted by AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes. Action begins Friday, March 13, and concludes Sunday, March 15.
