Pittsburgh, Pa. – Freshman Taylor Miller of the Duquesne University bowling team was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week Wednesday. It marks the fourth time this season she has garnered the top rookie weekly honor from the conference.

Miller, a native of Lititz, Pa., earns the award after helping the Dukes claim the team title at NEC #2 with a record of 10-2. Thanks to the performance, Duquesne finished 17-7 (.708) in conference play and earned a share of the 2026 NEC regular-season championship with Niagara.

Individually at NEC #2, Miller finished fifth. She collected 1,194 total pins, an average score of 199.0, and posted a 246 in a victory over the Purple Eagles. That began a run in which she eclipsed 200 in each of the final four games of traditional play, including a 206 in a triumph over FDU as well as a 208 in a win over Mercyhurst.

In traditional play, Miller finished with an average frame score of 19.90, logged an average of 9.50 on her first ball and also closed with a 90 overall fill percentage. She was successful on 40 percent of her attempts for strikes (24-of-60) and also posted an 83.3 spare percentage (30-for-36).

Miller is the fourth student-athlete in school history to be named NEC Rookie of the Week at least four times, joining seven-time winner Olivia Farwell in 2017-18, teammate Maribeth Baker, who claimed the honor five times in 2023-24, and Crystal Elliott, who was a four-time selection during the 2019-20 season. Duquesne has had a student-athlete named NEC Rookie of the Week six times this year, as joining Miller has been Jazmyn Scott, who has been bestowed the plaudit twice.

Overall this season, Miller has completed 777 frames and owns an average frame of 18.89, an average first ball of 8.84 and an overall fill percentage of 82.1. She also owns a strike percentage of 41.6 (326-for-783) and a spare conversion of 69.4 (317-for-457).

In addition to being named NEC Rookie of the Week, Miller was named an NEC Prime Performer. She was joined in collecting that honor by senior Emma Siekierski, who finished second at NEC #2, and Baker, who closed in fourth.

Led by head coach Jody Fetterhoff, the Dukes have finished in the top three in the NEC standings in each of the last eight years, including a share of the regular-season crown in both 2023 and 2026 and an outright championship in 2024. Duquesne will enter the NEC Championship as the No. 2 seed, as Niagara earns the No. 1 seed thanks to a 3-1 record head-to-head in the two conference competitions.

The Dukes wrap up their regular season by traveling to Greensboro, N.C., to take part in the Stallings Invitational, which is hosted by North Carolina A&T. Play begins at Triad Lanes Friday, Feb. 27, and concludes Sunday, March 1.
