NOTHING BUT NYLON
- The Duquesne women's basketball team heads to Richmond, Va., on Wednesday night for a 6:00 p.m. tip against Richmond at the Robins Center.

- The Dukes closed out its two-game homestand on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 72-53 decision to Saint Joseph's during Atlantic 10 play, inside UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

- Saint Joseph's (13-6 | 4-4 A-10) came out of the locker room on fire, shooting an impressive 91.7 percent (11-of-12) from the floor in the third quarter.

- After a jumper by Bordas trimmed the deficit to 34-31 with just over nine minutes remaining, the Hawks erupted for a decisive 15-3 run, shooting 6-of-7 (.857) from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, to build a 49-34 advantage.

- Sophomore Fatou Sane briefly stemmed the tide with a basket, but Saint Joseph's closed the quarter on an 11-6 spurt without missing a single shot from the field. Gabby Casey paced the Hawks in the period, scoring 11 of her game-high 26 points while going a perfect 4-of-4 from the field and 3-of-3 from deep.

- Casey finished with a double-double, shooting 75.0 percent (9-of-12) from the floor while pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds. She also knocked down five three-pointers and dished out five assists.

- Duquesne looked to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter as Grantham-Medley and Bordas each converted baskets, but Saint Joseph's answered with seven unanswered points to maintain its comfortable cushion.

The Series vs. Richmond – It'll be the 35th meeting come Wednesday night when the Dukes and Spiders take the floor as Richmond holds a 19-15 advantage in the all-time series. The Spiders have won the last four meetings, including a slight 63-58 victory in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament last season. The Spiders' lead grew to 10 points after Ally Sweeney's layup to start the fourth quarter. However, Mackenzie Blackford and Andjela Matic responded with back-to-back three-pointers, cutting the deficit to four (51-47) with 7:13 left in regulation. Richmond's Alyssa Jimenez answered with a three of her own, but Kiandra Browne's layup and a fortunate bounce on a three-pointer from Faith Walker brought the Dukes within two (54-52) with just over five minutes remaining. Coming out of the media timeout, the Dukes forced a Richmond turnover, leading to consecutive layups from Browne and Matic that put them ahead 56-54. After a quick 30-second timeout, Jimenez drained a left-corner three to reclaim the lead for the Spiders, who then extended their advantage to three with 1:30 remaining. Browne responded with another basket, but Sweeney pushed Richmond's lead back to three with 57 seconds on the clock. An offensive rebound by Walker gave the Dukes another opportunity with under 40 seconds remaining, but Browne's three-point attempt fell short with 20 seconds left. Richmond then went 2-of-4 from the free-throw line in the closing seconds to secure the win.

Scouting The Spiders – Richmond enters Wednesday's contest riding a five-game winning streak, boasting a 16-4 overall record and a 6-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play. The Spiders' matchup against George Mason was postponed Saturday, following a dominant 77-47 victory over VCU on Jan. 18. Richmond is led by a trio of players averaging double figures, headlined by conference-leading scorer Maggie Doogan. Doogan ranks seventh nationally in scoring at 23.2 points per game, while her 8.2 rebounds per contest pace the A-10. She has recorded seven double-doubles—second-most in the conference—and has knocked down 60 three-pointers, the 13th-most in the country. Rachel Ullstrom ranks second on the team with 15.2 points per game while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, the second-best mark in the conference. She leads the A-10 and ranks eighth nationally with 62 made three-pointers, while her 3.10 triples per game place her sixth. Ally Sweeney rounds out the trio, averaging just under 11 points per game while adding 4.3 assists per contest. Her 86 assists on the season and assist average both rank second in the conference.

Saint Joseph's Remains – After their win on Saturday, the Hawks have now win seven of the last eight meetings between the two teams. After a pair of empty possessions to open the game, Saint Joseph's jumped out to an early 12-4 lead, knocking down four of its next six shots, including three triples during the run. Sophomore Mackenzie Blackford responded with a three-pointer of her own, and freshman Alexis Bordas followed by converting an old-fashioned three-point play to pull Duquesne within 14-12. The Hawks answered with a steal and a bucket to take a 16-12 advantage at the end of the opening quarter. In the second quarter, Kaylinn Bethea extended the Saint Joseph's lead to 22-17 before Duquesne answered with a 6-1 surge to knot the score at 23-23 with 4:15 remaining in the half. Junior Raina Green converted a three-point play, and after a Saint Joseph's free throw, Blackford buried her second triple of the half. The Hawks responded with eight straight points, but the Dukes closed the half on a 6-2 stint to trail just 33-29 at the break. Green knocked down a pair at the chalk, sophomore Harriet Ford finished a layup, and after a Kaylie Griffin jumper, redshirt sophomore Gabby Grantham-Medley capped the half with a bucket.

Bombs Away – Duquesne continues to fire away from behind the arc, currently ranking fifth in the Atlantic 10 with more than six three-pointers per game. Much of that production comes from freshman guard Alexis Bordas and sophomore guard Mackenzie Blackford. Bordas ranks 16th nationally with 59 triples, leading the Dukes and sitting third in the league at 3.0 three-pointers per game. Blackford ranks second on the team with 39 made threes and sits seventh in the A-10 at 2.0 triples per contest. The Ohio native has connected on at least one three-pointer in all but one game this season and has drained three or more on five occasions. Over the last three games, Blackford is shooting better than 57.0 percent (8-of-14) from beyond the arc, knocking down three or more triples in two of those contests. Most recently, she went 3-of-4 (75.0 percent) from deep against Saint Joseph's, finishing with nine points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal. For her career, Blackford is shooting 36.0 percent from three-point range with 109 made triples.

Rookie Sensation – Freshman guard Alexis Bordas has arguably emerged as the Dukes' most consistent scorer this season. Bordas leads Duquesne and ranks sixth in the Atlantic 10 at 15.6 points per game, reaching double figures in 17 contests and pacing the Dukes in scoring on 10 occasions. The West Virginia native leads the team and ranks 16th nationally with 59 total three-pointers, while her 3.0 triples per game sit third in the A-10 and 16th in the country. Bordas has knocked down at least one three in all but one game this season and has drained three or more triples in 11 contests. The lone Duke to start all nine conference games, Bordas is averaging 13.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and a team-leading 1.7 steals per game against league opponents. She is shooting better than 35.0 percent from the field and 84.6 percent (22-of-26) from the free-throw line, while connecting on 22 three-pointers in conference play. Bordas has recorded five 20-point performances this season, including two in the last five games.

Crash the Boards - Duquesne continues to limit opponents to one shot per possession, fueled by its dominance on the glass. The Dukes rank 22nd nationally with more than 42 rebounds per game and sit 23rd in Division I with over 15 offensive boards per contest. That advantage has translated into 11 games with 40 or more rebounds this season, including four outings of 50-plus boards. Sophomore forward Harriet Ford has been the catalyst behind that success, averaging a team-best 7.7 rebounds per game to rank fourth in the Atlantic 10. Her 3.8 offensive rebounds per contest rank 23rd nationally, and she has posted seven double-digit rebounding performances this season. Redshirt sophomore guard Gabby Grantham-Medley and junior Reina Green also contribute a strong presence on the boards. Grantham-Medley ranks second on the team at 4.2 rebounds per game, while Green is averaging just over 4.0 rebounds per contest. Over the last six games, Green has increased that output to just under five rebounds per outing.

Did You Know? - The Dukes enter Wednesday's contest having made at least one three-pointer in 447 consecutive games, a streak spanning 15 years. The last time Duquesne failed to connect from beyond the arc was on December 21, 2011, when the Dukes went 0-for-19 from long range against Florida in the championship game of the Gator Holiday Classic. Just last season, the NCAA Division I women's record for consecutive games with a made three-pointer was broken. Iowa State had previously held the mark with an astounding 945-game streak dating back to February 19, 1995, when the Cyclones competed in the Big Eight Conference. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga now owns the longest active streak in Division I women's basketball, with 827 straight games featuring a made three-pointer.
