Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's soccer team announced its 2025 schedule Tuesday, which includes eight home games at Rooney Field under first-year head coach Jessica Giegucz.

The Dukes will open the season and the Giegucz era Sunday, August 17, in Kent, Ohio, with a 1:00 p.m. match at Kent State. It marks the third consecutive year Duquesne will take on the Golden Flashes, as the two programs have split the two previous meetings.

Last season the Dukes earned a 4-2 win over Kent State as part of Senior Day festivities at Rooney Field as Brianna Moore opened the scoring at 40:56 and finished with two goals in the victory. All-time the series between Kent State and Duquesne is tied, 3-3 (.500).

The home portion of the 2025 slate for the Dukes begins Thursday, August 21, with a 1:00 p.m. start against Saint Francis at Rooney Field. Duquesne is 15-7-1 (.674) all-time against the Red Flash and have won eight consecutive games in the series, including a 2-0 victory last season in Loretto, Pa.

Also on the non-conference ledger for Duquesne in 2025 are home matches with Cleveland State (Sept. 4) and Youngstown State (Sept. 11) as well as away games at Mercyhurst (August 24), West Virginia (August 28), Bowling Green (Sept. 7) and Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 14). The non-conference finale against the Colonels marks the first time Duquesne and EKU will meet on the pitch.
