The Series vs. Pitt – Come Sunday afternoon, it'll be the 43rd meeting between the Dukes and Panthers as Pitt holds a 23-19 lead in the all-time series. The Dukes have been victorious in seven of the last 10 contests while entering Sunday on a two-game winning streak, including a 73-69 last season inside the Petersen Event Center. Graduate student Gabby Hutcherson knotted the score at 63-all with a layup before giving the Dukes a 65-63 advantage with 4:43 left in the fourth quarter. Hutcherson would go to the chalk to extend the Duquesne with a pair of free-throws (67-63) before the two squads went scoreless for the next two minutes. MaKalya Elmore cut the deficit to two with a layup before Kiaku buried a right corner triple to stretch the Dukes lead back to five. The Panthers cut the lead to three with a pair of free-throws before Browne banked in a long ball as the shot clock expired the very next possession. Aislin Malcolm hit a jumper with five seconds remaining but the Dukes ran out the clock for the victory. A trio of Dukes finished in double figures tonight, led by Jerni Kiaku. She posted a team-best 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting (63.6%) from the floor while collecting six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Megan McConnell registered her fourth double-double of the season and the 29th of her career, finishing with 14 points and 11 assists while playing all 40 minutes. McConnell tallied four assists, three steals, and a block while burying four three-pointers in the win. Gabby Hutcherson was the final Duke in double digits, carding 10 points, two rebounds, two blocks, and one assist. The trio registered 44 of the Dukes 73 points.

Scouting The Panthers – A member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Pitt enters Sunday's contest with a 7-6 overall record after snapping a two-game skid with a commanding 98-46 victory over Saint Francis on Thursday night. The Panthers feature two players averaging double figures, led by Mikayla Johnson and Fatima Diakhate. Johnson paces the team with 11.2 points per game while also pulling down more than five rebounds per contest. Diakhate is flirting with a double-double on the season, averaging 10.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 65.6 percent from the field. Her 112 total rebounds rank second in the ACC and 21st nationally, while her 8.6 rebounds per game place her fifth in the league. Diakhate has recorded five double-doubles this season, the 15th most in the country, and has added 22 blocks. Pitt also boasts one of the ACC's top perimeter threats in Carla Viegas, who has connected on the third-most three-pointers in the conference with 29, averaging just under three makes per contest, also ranking third in the league.

Stony Brook Remains - Unfortunately, the shooting woes persisted for the Dukes in the third quarter, as they went just 1-of-12 from the field and 0-of-3 from beyond the arc. After a three-pointer from Janay Brantley and freshman Alexis Bordas split a pair at the charity stripe, both teams endured a three-and-a-half-minute scoring drought. Alex Brown then connected on back-to-back layups to extend the Seawolves' lead to 32-17 before Bordas scored Duquesne's lone field goal of the quarter with 3:45 remaining. Stony Brook (4-8) closed the frame on a 10-4 run, shooting a perfect 4-of-4 from the field, to carry a 42-23 advantage into the final quarter. Duquesne continued to fight, opening the final 10 minutes with nine straight points, led by Bordas. The freshman sparked the rally with a layup, followed by a triple from Blackford and a pair of free throws from sophomore Fatou Sane. Bordas capped the run with another layup, pulling the Dukes within 42-32 with just over seven minutes remaining, but that would be as close as they would get.

One To Watch – In her first season on the Bluff, freshman guard Alexis Bordas has made an immediate impact for the Dukes. She currently leads the team with 13.5 points per game, while also averaging 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest. Her 2.0 steals per game rank fifth in the Atlantic 10, as she has recorded at least one takeaway in all 11 games this season, including six outings with two or more steals. Over Duquesne's five-game road swing, the West Virginia native paced the Dukes with nearly 14 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, while knocking down 13 three-pointers. She reached double figures in four of the five contests and posted her second 20-point performance of the season at Liberty, scoring 23 points while connecting on five triples. Bordas owns the only two 20-point performances by a Duke this season and has scored in double figures eight times, leading Duquesne in scoring on four occasions.

All Systems Green – A key contributor for the Dukes in recent weeks has been junior guard Reina Green. Over the past five games, Green ranks third on the team with just under 9.0 points per game, while shooting an efficient 50.0 percent (15-of-30) from the field. During that stretch, she is also averaging 4.6 rebounds and nearly 2.0 assists per game, while knocking down four three-pointers. The Florida native reached double figures in three contests and grabbed five or more rebounds in three games. Green opened the road swing with her first double-digit performance of the season, scoring 10 points on 50.0 percent shooting while pulling down seven rebounds against Liberty. She followed with consecutive 10-point outings in the Atlantic 10 opener at Davidson, shooting an impressive 80.0 percent (4-of-5), and at Eastern Michigan, where she connected at a 50.0 percent (4-of-8) clip from the floor. On the season, Green is averaging just under 6.0 points per game and ranks third on the team with 16 total steals.

Glass Cleaners - Duquesne continues to limit opponents to a single shot per possession, a product of the Dukes' overwhelming dominance on the glass. Ranking eighth nationally with more than 46 rebounds per game and fourth in Division I with over 18 offensive rebounds per contest, Duquesne has consistently controlled the boards. That rebounding advantage has already resulted in seven games with 40 or more rebounds, including four performances of 50+, in which the Dukes are a perfect 4-0. Sophomore forward Harriet Ford has been at the center of that success. She is averaging 8.4 rebounds per game, good for second in the Atlantic 10, while her 4.8 offensive rebounds per contest rank fifth nationally. Ford has recorded four double-doubles, tied for second in the conference, and has led Duquesne in rebounding seven times this season. Redshirt sophomore Gabby Grantham-Medley has also played a pivotal role, ranking second on the team with 5.2 rebounds per game. She has grabbed at least five rebounds in three straight games and five times overall, further strengthening Duquesne's interior presence.

Let It Fly - The Dukes enter Sunday's contest having made at least one three-pointer in 438 consecutive games, a streak spanning 14 years. The last time Duquesne failed to connect from beyond the arc was on December 21, 2011, when the Dukes went 0-for-19 from long range against Florida in the championship game of the Gator Holiday Classic. Just last season, the NCAA Division I women's record for consecutive games with a made three-pointer was broken. Iowa State had previously held the mark with an astounding 945-game streak dating back to February 19, 1995, when the Cyclones competed in the Big Eight Conference. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga now owns the longest active streak in Division I women's basketball, with 816 straight games featuring a made three-pointer.
