PITTSBURGH — The Duquesne University triathlon team remained No. 9 in the College Triathlon Coaches Association (CTCA) national rankings and placed five student-athletes in the top 100 individually as the Dukes prepare for Saturday's East National Qualifier in Lake Norman, N.C.

- National Ranking: Duquesne held steady at No. 9 in the CTCA midseason rankings ahead of the national qualifiers, matching its preseason position. The Dukes placed ninth at last year's Division I national championships. Five Dukes are ranked among the Top 100 individually: Kadence Ribbink – No. 22, Rachele Lavagno – No. 69, Catherine Staley – No. 82, Robyn Hunt – No. 92, Kate Potashnik – No. 97

- Last Time Out: The Dukes last competed Sept. 20 at the third annual Duquesne Invitational at Brady's Run Park, placing second overall. Duquesne had seven finishers in the top 20 and 11 in the top 38, led by freshman Kadence Ribbink, who captured her first win in her second collegiate race and became the first Duke to defend the home course title. Freshman Catherine Staley finished eighth (1:04:52), followed by sophomore Rachele Lavagno in 11th (1:05:30), junior Robyn Hunt in 13th (1:06:04), and freshman Mikele Jopson in 16th (1:06:23) to round out the team's top five.
- On the World Stage: Last week, Ribbink competed at the World Triathlon Junior Championships, placing 34th overall in 1:08:59.
- Up Next: Qualifying Dukes will advance to the Women's Collegiate Triathlon National Championships on Nov. 8 in Tempe, Ariz.
