From The Pitch

 
- The Duquesne University men's soccer team hosts George Washington Saturday in a 7:00 p.m. match at Rooney Field. The Dukes will welcome back their alumni for the game as part of Alumni Weekend.
 
- Wrapping up a two-game road swing, Duquesne dropped a 1-0 decision at Fordham (10/11) in its last outing. Daniel D'Ippolito scored the only goal of the contest just before halftime on a set piece to give the Rams the victory.
 
- The Dukes opened their road trip with a 6-1 setback at Rhode Island (10/8) as the Rams scored five times in the second half to power to the win.
 
- Senior forward Dakota Jonke scored on a header on a long pass from redshirt senior Pepo Bravo to close out the scoring at URI, snapping a string of 10 unanswered goals by Atlantic 10 opponents. It marked the fourth goal of the year for Jonke, who is tied with Roni Badler and Jaxon Ervin for team-high honors.
 
- In their last home game, the Dukes earned a 3-1 victory over Detroit Mercy (9/30) in a non-conference affair at Rooney Field. Duquesne scored three times in the second half to earn the win.
 
- Less than three minutes after the break against the Titans, sophomore forward Roni Badler found the back of the net for his fourth goal of the year to give Duquesne a 1-0 lead at 47:09.
 
- The Dukes added two more goals in the span of two-and-a-half minutes to grab a 3-0 lead in the triumph over UDM, with sophomore Miles Imparato scoring at 68:26 and redshirt junior Jaxon Ervin finding the back of the net for the fourth time this season at 71:07 on a feed from Imparato.
 
- Seven different players etched their name on the scoresheet in the win over Detroit Mercy. Through 12 matches of the 2025 season, a total of seven different players have scored a goal for Duquesne, while 15 have registered on the scoresheet.
 
- The Dukes are led by head coach Chase Brooks, who is in his 13th season leading the program in 2025. Brooks has compiled an overall record of 94-91-29 (.507) at Duquesne and is the program's all-time leader in coaching victories. In his 15th year as a head coach overall, Brooks has posted a mark of 116-97-38 (.538).
 
- Duquesne established a new program record last season with 11 consecutive wins at Rooney Field as well as its eight victories at home in 2024. Despite a 1-0 loss to No. 7 Saint Louis (9/20), the Dukes own a mark of 30-5-6 (.805) at Rooney Field since the beginning of the 2021 campaign.
 
Scouting the Revolutionaries – Located in Washington, D.C. … GW carries an overall record of 2-9-2 (.231) into Saturday's matchup with the Dukes, including an 0-5 mark in the Atlantic 10 … The Revolutionaries own a record of 0-5-1 (.083) on the road this season … Sophomore forward Louis Crofts leads George Washington in scoring with seven points thanks to three goals and an assist … The 2025 season is the 14th for head coach Craig Jones (George Washington'99) at his alma mater … Jones was named the 2015 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year after guiding the Revolutionaries to the regular-season championship … Saturday marks the 26th meeting in the all-time series between Duquesne and GW, with the Dukes holding a 15-9-1 (.620) advantage … Duquesne has won five consecutive games in the all-time series, including a 1-0 triumph last season in Washington, D.C. at GW Soccer Field (9/21/24).
 
So Fresh, So Clean – Duquesne has received production from up and down its lineup throughout the course of the 2025 campaign. Of the seven players that have scored a goal for the Dukes this year, four have collected their first NCAA Division I strike. The list grew in a 3-1 win over St. Bonaventure (9/14), with redshirt junior Ashwin Menon and sophomore midfielder Miles Imparato each connecting for their first career NCAA goals in the victory, with Menon's standing as the game winner. In all, a total of 15 different players have registered on the scoresheet this season.
 
The Helper – While seven different Dukes have scored a goal so far this season, senior midfielder Grant McIntosh has been in the middle of the attack. He leads Duquesne in assists with three, including a secondary assist in the first goal of the match in a 3-1 victory over St. Bonaventure (9/14) that opened a three-game homestand at Rooney Field. McIntosh has appeared in 44 career games on the Bluff, including 43 starts, and has tallied six career assists. Through 12 matches this season, a total of 13 Dukes have posted an assist, including six that have registered two or more.
 
Instant Impact – In addition to collecting the first goal of the 2025 season for Duquesne, freshman midfielder Hákon Dagur Matthíasson set up the second goal of the contest in a 3-0 win over Seton Hill (8/21) at Rooney Field. He fed redshirt junior Jaxon Ervin, who sliced one into the net at 27:21 to give the Dukes a 2-0 cushion. Ervin is Duquesne's active career points leader with 22 points thanks to seven goals and eight assists, and the Dukes are a perfect 7-0 when he scores in a game since the beginning of the 2024 campaign.
 
Power Pack – Duquesne's 1-0 win at Syracuse (9/5) helped the Dukes improve to 3-1-1 (.700) against teams from a power conference over the last four years. In 2022, Duquesne opened its season with a 1-0 victory at Michigan (8/25/22) out of the Big Ten. The following year as part of Fairfield Inn by Marriott Invitational, which was hosted by James Madison, the Dukes earned a 5-1 triumph over Virginia Tech (8/27/23) out of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Last season, Duquesne finished with a 1-1 tie at No. 23 Notre Dame (9/10/24), also out of the ACC, before its road win against the Orange.
 
One – Since the beginning of the 2021 campaign, the Dukes own a record of 31-11 (.738) in one-goal matches. Included in that stretch is an 18-4 (.818) record in such games at Rooney Field and a 13-7 (.650) mark on the road.
