- Included among the six returning starters for Duquesne is four of the top five scorers from 2025, including leading scorer Jaxon Ervin. A two-time member of the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team (2024, 2025), Ervin started all 16 games for the Dukes last year and finished with a team-high 12 points thanks to five goals and a pair of assists.

- Menon and Posada join Ervin in having started all 16 games for Duquesne last season. Reserve Spark – In returning four of its top five scorers from last year, junior forward Roni Badler was a key contributor for the Dukes, mostly as a reserve. He played in 11 contests a year ago, including one start, and tied for second on the squad in goals (4) while ranking third in points (8). Owning one of the more lethal strikes in the lineup, 52.4 percent (11-of-21) of Badler's shots during the year were on frame. He led Duquesne in shots on goal and was one of seven players to produce a game-winning goal throughout the season. He fired a career-high five shots in the 2026 season opener against Lafayette (8/20).

The New Style – The starting lineup for Duquesne in its 2026 season opener featured four players making their debut on the Bluff. Each is a transfer, including redshirt freshman Steel Bayer and senior Sergios Feneridis on defense, forward Jameson Michel and goalkeeper Sam Coss. Bayer is a transfer from West Virginia and in the season opener against Lafayette (8/20) logged 73 minutes, while Feneridis, a transfer from Virginia Tech who missed last season rehabbing from injury, posted a shot in 56 minutes of action. Michel, a transfer from Maryland, played 52 minutes in his Duquesne debut, while Coss, who also missed last year due to injury in his first year with the Dukes, earned his first career clean sheet in his first career start. Coss, a transfer from Syracuse, posted a pair of saves.

The Next Step – A key figure in the lineup as a rookie last season was Hákon Dagur Matthíasson, who scored a pair of goals while notching an assist for five points. Included among his strikes was the lone goal in a 1-0 victory at Syracuse that helped him earn Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors. Both of the times that Matthíasson found the back of the net last year wound up a game-winning goal. He also produced a goal and an assist in 55 minutes of the 2025 season opener, a 3-0 triumph over Seton Hill at Rooney Field.

One – Since the beginning of the 2021 campaign, the Dukes own a record of 33-13 (.717) in one-goal matches. Included in that stretch is a 19-5 (.792) record in such games at Rooney Field and a 14-8 (.636) mark on the road.
