Pittsburgh, Pa. – Former Duquesne University men's basketball forward
Andrei Savrasov has signed a professional contract with BC Irkut Irkutsk of Russian Basketball Superleague 1 and the Russian Basketball Cup.
Savrasov is the fourth different member of the Dukes to ink a pro contract this summer, joining former forward
Tre Williams (
QSTA United) and former guards
Tevin Brewer (
Kipinä Äänekoski) and
Jimmy Clark III, who
signed over the weekend with Bnei Herzliya Basket of the Israeli Premier League.
In his lone season at Duquesne in 2023-24 after transferring from Georgia Southern, Savrasov earned 12 starts among his 20 games played, producing averages of 5.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest while converting 48.4 percent (45-for-93) of his shots from the field. He scored in double figures four times, including a season-high 17 points in a 69-67 win over Bradley in Akron, Ohio, at Lebron James Arena. In that contest Savrasov shot 8-for-9 from the field and added five rebounds and four steals.
The Dukes were a perfect 4-0 in the games in which Savrasov scored in double figures during the 2023-24 campaign. He posted 10 points, four boards, two assists, two blocks and a pair of steals in a 90-72 win over College of Charleston in Annapolis, Md., as part of the Veterans Classic, scored 15 points in a 66-62 triumph over UC Irvine at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse and missed a double-double by a rebound thanks to 14 points and nine caroms in an 85-72 victory at Marshall.
In five seasons at the NCAA Division I level, Savrasov compiled career totals of 958 points, 546 rebounds, 50 blocks and 92 steals. He played 21 games at Texas Tech in 2019-20 before transferring to Georgia Southern, where he played three seasons from 2020 to 2023. Savrasov was named to the 2023 All-Sun Belt Second Team in his final season with the Eagles.

Keith Dambrot at Duquesne.
The Dukes return a pair of starters and nine letterwinners for head coach
Dru Joyce III, who is in his first year leading the program in 2024-25. Duquesne finished with an overall record of 25-12 (.676) last season, earned its first Atlantic 10 Championship since 1977 and posted its first win in the NCAA Championship since 1969.
