Pittsburgh, Pa. – Former Duquesne University men's basketball forward
Tre Williams (2019-24) has signed a professional contract with QSTA United in the Netherlands. QSTA United plays in the BNXT League, the first tier of basketball in both Belgium and the Netherlands.
Williams, a native of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, appeared in 83 games for Duquesne from 2021 to 2024 after transferring from Indiana State, including 75 starting assignments. He produced averages of 7.0 points and 4.3 rebounds with the Dukes while shooting 46.1 percent (244-for-529) from the field.
Beginning his NCAA Division I career with the Sycamores from 2019 to 2021, Williams amassed 138 career games played in five seasons, including 130 starts. He eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau in his final season at Duquesne, as a layup at the 5:08 mark of the first half at Fordham helped him reach the threshold. Overall during his career, Williams finished with 1,021 points, 636 rebounds and 173 blocks and finished by successfully converting 49.3 percent (435-of-883) of his shots from the floor.
On Senior Day at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in March, a 67-65 win over George Washington, Williams contributed four points and seven rebounds. Five days later he was instrumental in helping Duquesne upset No. 24 Dayton in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship, contributing six points and six rebounds in a 65-57 victory.
Williams becomes the 13th Duquesne student-athlete to play for former head coach Keith Dambrot and sign a professional contract overseas.
The Dukes are led by
Dru Joyce III, who enters his first year as head coach in 2024-25. Duquesne returns a pair of starters and nine letterwinners from a 2023-24 squad that posted an overall record of 25-12 (.676) and advanced to its first NCAA Championship since 1977.
