LAST TIME OUT

  • Freshman Gracin Emerson scored her first career goal at the 7:13 mark in the third quarter to give DU its largest lead of the afternoon (+3 / 10-7), a margin they held three more times fending off any late Highlander comeback attempt.
  • The game stayed within three goals from start to finish and was tied twice, but Duquesne never trailed and held on for the win ... No team scored more than two goals in a row all game and the entire second half alternated scores.
  • The Dukes had an early season-high four free position goals (4-6), as Leszczynski and Webb each went 2-for-2.
  • Lindsay Newton dished out a career-best two assists and scored once ... Jillian Caroselli (2) and Tristen Chang (1) extended their point streaks to four games with assists, while Charlotte Stamper and Ali Evans each had their first career assists.

FIVE IN A ROW

  • Duquesne, winners of five straight, improved to 5-1 with Saturday's win, the best start since starting 4-1 in 2019 (Coach Desrosiers first season) ... The five-game win streak is the longest for DU since 2014, when the Dukes won 10 in a row during a 14-4 season.
  • DU's 3-1 start was just the third time (2014 & '19) with three wins in the first four games of a season since 2001.

NATIONAL LEADER x2

  • Junior defender Hanna Pawela leads the NCAA averaging 5.00 caused turnovers per game AND 5.17 ground balls per game.

  • No other player in Division 1 has caused more than seven turnovers in a game this season ... Pawela has three games with eight or more.

SCOUTING THE ROYALS

  • Queens is in its second season as a Division I member ... In its last DII season (2022), the Royals made a run to the DII national semifinals.
  • Queens will look to stay unbeaten at home this season (currently 2-0) ... Wins over Elon (15-10) and Canisius (14-10) opened the 2024 home slate.
  • The Royals are 3-0 when scoring 13 or more goals.
  • Three players have scored double-digit goals led by Ainsley Thurston with 14, including at least two in every game.
  • Kayleen Favreau is the lone returner of four All-ASUN honorees last season and was named preseason all-conference.

WELCOME BACK WEBB
