LAST TIME OUT
- Duquesne dropped a mutual Atlantic 10 Conference opener, 20-9, against No. 23 ranked Richmond last Saturday afternoon at Rooney Field.
- The Spiders came out firing with four straight goals in the opening five minutes and took a 10-4 lead at the end of the first quarter ... The Dukes held Richmond to just one goal in the second frame and went on a 3-0 scoring run to bring the score to 11-7 at the 11:45 mark in the third quarter ... The margin remained at four over the ensuing nine minutes, during which Richmond made three saves including two on free position attempts ... The Spiders got back on the board with a shorthanded goal with less than three minutes remaining in the third quarter, sparking a 4-0 run as Richmond closed the game with an 8-2 fourth quarter.
- Jillian Caroselli paced the Dukes offense with a career-high four goals on five shots, including a 2-for-2 effort from the free position. Caroselli added an assist for five points - also a career-best.
- Mackenzie Leszczynski, Tristen Chang, Emma Raines, Haley Reeck, and Charlotte Stamper all had one score apiece to round out the scoring for Duquesne. Chang (2) and Leszczynski also dished out assists.
STREAKS TO NOTE
- Leszczynski has now scored in seven straight games and Raines is on a four-game scoring stretch.
- Caroselli and Chang extended their point streaks to six and five games, respectively.
- In two games played, Louisville transfer Haley Reeck has three goals.
- Stamper's second career goal on Saturday gave her three straight games with a point.
NATIONAL LEADER
- Junior defender Hanna Pawela leads the NCAA averaging 4.88 ground balls per game and is second at 4.12 caused turnovers per game.
- Pawela is eight ground balls and 18 caused turnovers away from 100 in her career.
- She set a new DU single-game record vs. EMU with 10 CTs - the most by a Division I player since Elizabeth Small (Sacred Heart) had 10 against Vermont on 2/28/20.
- Pawela has three games with eight or more CTs, the only player with multiple games over seven in Division I this season.
- Pawela has been named the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week twice this season ... Most recently on Mar. 5 after posting 14 GBs and 13 CTs in a 2-0 week for DU ... Her first honor was on Feb. 19 after her record 10 CTs and a career-high eight GBs in the home-opening win over EMU.
SCOUTING THE REVOLUTIONARIES
- George Washington snapped a two-game losing skid with a 14-11 non-conference win over Youngstown State on Wednesday.
- The Revolutionaries dropped their A-10 opener, 14-7, at St. Bonaventure last Friday.
- GW is 2-3 at home this season.
- Last season, GW went 6-12 with a 5-4 conference record and 3-6 mark at home ... The Revolutionaries were the five seed in the A-10 tournament and lost 15-5 at No. 4 Davidson in the first round.
- GW commits the least amount of fouls in Division I this season (6.22 per game) and is 11th in the least amount of turnovers per game (12.22).
- The Revolutionaries are top-30 nationally in draw control percentage (.560) led by Stella Ray who is second in the A-10 and 27th in DI at 5.89 draw controls per game.
- Goalkeeper Mia Caro ranks second in the A-10 and 14th nationally with 72 saves.
- GW is 1-6 when allowing double-digit goals.
- Five players have 10+ goals, led by grad student Emma Nowakowski with 23.
DEFENSIVE DUKES
- Duquesne leads Division I averaging 14.62 caused turnovers per game and is second at 24.00 ground balls per game.
- The Dukes have four of the top-five caused turnover games in the A-10 this season (24 vs. EMU, 19 vs. UDM, 17 at Queens, 16 vs. Akron) ... The 24 CTs vs. EMU are the second-most by a D1 team this season.
- DU is the only A-10 team with multiple games recording more than 30 ground balls (35 vs. Detroit Mercy & 34 at Radford).
STAT STANDOUTS
- Senior Emelie Curtis leads the A-10 with 14 assists ... The Yardley, Pa. product has three games with three or more assists this season ... Her five assists in the win over EMU were the most in a game by a Duke since March 2019, and are tied for the most in a game by an A-10 player this year.
- Mackenzie Leszczynski is in the top-five in the A-10 in four stat categories; shots on goal (5.12/g - 2nd), free position percentage (.545 - 2nd), free position goals (0.75/g - 2nd), and shots (6.12/g - 4th) ... Her team-leading 25 points are sixth-most in the A-10.
- Corinne Webb, who missed the entire 2023 season with an injury, has racked up a team-high 21 goals, which ranks fifth in the conference ... Webb scored in each of the first six games with three four-goal outings and one five-goal effort (at Radford).
- As a team, DU is second in the A-10 averaging 22.50 shots on goal per game.

- The Dukes are 23-1 in the Desrosiers Era (since 2019) when scoring more than 15 goals ... 2-0 this season (EMU and YSU).

- Junior Mackenzie Leszczynski recorded her 100th career point as a Duke in the win over Akron ... She currently has 85 goals and 26 assists (111 points).
- Leszczynski is 15 draw controls away from entering the top-five in Duquesne program history for career draw controls (currently at 142 - Clare Hurley (2012-15) is fifth all time with 157).
STRONG START
- Duquesne started the season 5-1, the best start since 4-1 in 2019 (Coach Desrosiers first season) ... The five-game win streak was the longest for DU since 2014, when the Dukes won 10 in a row during a 14-4 season.
