Colleen Meyers Selected as First Women's Golf Coach

PITTSBURGH - Duquesne University is proud to announce the hiring of Colleen Meyers as the head coach of DU's newly-formed women's golf program.

Meyers arrives on the Bluff after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's teams at Carnegie Mellon, one of the top teams in Division III. Meyers also has served as the head coach at Oakland Catholic High School since the spring of 2015.

"I am thrilled with the opportunity to lead the women's golf program at Duquesne University," said Meyers. "My vision is to build a closely-knit team with a culture rich in hard work, integrity, sportsmanship, and a winning mindset. I am honored to join the Duquesne University family and I look forward to the Dukes making our mark on the Division I golf scene in 2024."

Last season, Meyers helped lead the Tartans men's team to the first NCAA team title in CMU athletics history. The year prior, the CMU men took sixth at the national tournament. On the women's side, CMU placed fourth at the NCAA championships during each of Meyers' two seasons on the staff.

Meyers is a successful amateur golfer with multiple tournament titles, including the women's club championship at Oakmont Country Club in 2020, the 2021 WPGA Senior Amateur Championship, and Oakmont's senior women's club championship three times (2020, '21, and '23).

A former communications contact for Allegheny General Hospital, Meyers has four children including twins Jess and Jimmy, who competed at the Division I level. Jess is a recent graduate of Notre Dame and Jimmy is set to enter his fifth season at Penn State as a graduate student pursuing a Mater of Finance degree.

Meyers will begin recruiting immediately and the Dukes are scheduled to begin competition as Atlantic 10 Conference members next fall (2024).
