Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's golf team concluded its 2025-26 regular season Tuesday, finishing sixth out of 11 teams at the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton Parish, Bermuda. The Dukes handed in a 965 (327-319-319) over the course of 54 holes in a tournament hosted by Lehigh.
TEAM LEADERBOARD
Stetson claimed the team title at the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate with a score of 900 over the three rounds. Opening with a 307, the Hatters posted the best team score of the tournament in round two with a 292 before closing with a 301. Stetson finished 32 strokes ahead of UAlbany (932) and Wofford (932), with Morehead State (943) and Bucknell (945) rounding out the top five. Trailing Duquesne and rounding out the field was Lehigh (967), Mount St. Mary's (969), Saint Francis (986), Idaho State (987) and USC Upstate (993).
CLOSING STRONG
Sophomore
Abby Slankster will begin preparation for the Atlantic 10 Championship coming off a strong finish to the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate. She fired a 73 in the third and final round Tuesday, just two strokes above par. The round helped her finish at 246 overall after she opened with a 90 and followed with an 83 in round two. Slankster tied for 42 individually along with senior
Lindsey Powanda, who opened with a 79, posted an 82 in the second round and closed with an 85. Slankster and Powanda, meanwhile, where joined by freshman
Ashley von Behren in tying for team-high honors in birdies over the course of competition. Each of the trio finished with four. Leading the field was Sophia Bardunias of Bucknell, who posted eight. As for von Behren, she finished the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate with a 251 (81-86-84).
TOP OF THE POPS
Sophomore
Sasha Petrochko garnered the top honor for the Dukes individually at the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate, firing a 239 over the course of 54 holes. She opened with an 83 before posting a 78 in both the second and third rounds to finish in a three-way tie for 21st with both Izzy Hassebrock of Idaho State and Sienna Mosquera of Lehigh. Petrochko logged a team-high 26 pars over the course of 54 holes and also averaged the best score (5.44) on a par five over the course of the tournament for Duquesne.
THE LINEUP
Also for Duquesne, freshman
Lilly Powell finished in a three-way tie for 35th individually at the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate, carding a 244. She opened with an 84 before handing in a 76 in round two. Tuesday she closed out the competition with an 84 and tied with Claudia Hofmeister and Morgan Kennedy, each of Morehead State. Powell was the most consistent player for the Dukes on a par four, averaging 4.55 strokes. Also for Duquesne, sophomore
Katie Fodale finished with a 259 (90-87-82).
UP NEXT
Prep begins for the Atlantic 10 Championship, which begins Monday, April 20, in Orlando, Fla., at Evermore Resort. The Dukes, playing in their second conference championship, will also compete Tuesday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 22.
